What is Milia?

Milia is a common skin condition that can affect people of all ages. The condition consists of little, tiny, white bumps that usually appear under your eyes, nose and cheeks. Unlike acne, milia is caused by embedded dead skin cells within the surface layer of the skin.

Similar to acne, milia can be managed in adults. We advise you not to pick at it because it leads to scarring. Here are some tips for keeping your milia at bay. But, for severe cases,we recommend you see a dermatologist.

Facial Wash

Because milia is caused by trapped oil underneath the skin’s surface, you need to cleanse daily with a product containing an alpha hydroxy or glycolic acid for best results.

If you want to stay away from acids, you can use an exfoliating cleanser instead. Deep exfoliating treatments help get down into the surface of the skin and remove oil and pore clogging impurities.
